Redruth Charity Trust has just completed it's annual visit to local primary schools to present the Fred Harris Memorial Award.
Mr. Harris worked in education all his life and was a trustee of the charity for more than 50 years.
The awards presented in his memory include a £250 donation to the school and a £50 W. H. Smith's token to the winning student from year 6.  The pupil is chosen before moving to secondary education for making a difference to their primary school.
Illogan School student Louise Smitham pictured with Mr. Hailey was chosen for her valuable contribution.
Louise started the school as a very quiet and timid child; she has matured into a lovely girl and gained so much confidence along the way.  Louise excelled in every activity at Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre during the year 6 camp and plays in the netball team.  She did brilliantly in her SATs and recently took a lead role as Kitty Cobblers in the Musicmakers performance.  Louise thoroughly deserves the award and is sure to thrive at Pool Academy.
